Club Code of Conduct

Capital City FC is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and enjoyable football environment for every player, parent, guardian and coach. This Code of Conduct applies to everyone who takes part in Club activities and sets out the standards of behaviour we expect.

Parents and guardians

Encourage players to participate for their own enjoyment and development, not only to win.
Respect coaches, officials, opponents and referees. Abusive language, shouting or aggressive behaviour is not acceptable at any Club activity.
Support the Club by ensuring players arrive and are collected on time, and by keeping contact, medical and emergency information up to date.
Raise concerns directly and respectfully with the coach or Club management. Public confrontations, social-media attacks or threats will not be tolerated.
Model the behaviour you expect from players: be positive, patient and treat everyone with courtesy.

Players

Treat team-mates, opponents, coaches and referees with respect.
Play fairly, follow the laws of the game and accept the decisions of match officials without argument.
Attend training and matches as agreed with the coach, and let the coach or parent know in advance if you cannot attend.
Look after Club equipment and facilities, and report damage or safety concerns promptly.
Never bully, harass or discriminate against anyone. Help make the Club welcoming for every member.

Coaches and staff

Put the welfare and development of players first. Plan sessions that are safe, age-appropriate and inclusive.
Treat every player fairly, encourage effort and improvement, and avoid favouritism or harsh criticism.
Communicate clearly with parents and guardians about schedules, expectations and any concerns.
Follow the Club's safeguarding procedures, including supervision ratios, emergency protocols and reporting requirements.
Lead by example: be punctual, prepared and respectful in every interaction.

Anti-discrimination

Capital City FC does not tolerate discrimination, harassment or victimisation of any kind. This includes discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, socio-economic status or any other protected characteristic.

Offensive comments, jokes, slurs, stereotypes or exclusionary behaviour are prohibited at training, matches, Club events and in any Club-related communication, including online channels. Anyone who witnesses or experiences discrimination should report it to the Club management.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable participants is central to everything we do. The Club expects coaches, staff, parents and guardians to:

Ensure children are supervised appropriately during Club activities and are not left alone with unauthorised adults.
Report any concern about a child's welfare, including signs of abuse, neglect, bullying or unsafe behaviour, to the Club management immediately.
Respect children's personal boundaries and avoid physical contact that is unnecessary, excessive or open to misinterpretation.
Use Club communication channels responsibly and avoid one-to-one private contact with children through personal accounts or devices.

Reporting and enforcement

Concerns about breaches of this Code of Conduct should be sent to play@capitalcityfc.co.za. The Club will take reports seriously, keep matters confidential where appropriate, and respond in a fair and timely manner.

Where a breach is serious or repeated, the Club may take disciplinary action. This can include a formal warning, temporary suspension from Club activities, or termination of membership. The Club's decisions on enforcement are final.

Commitment

By participating in Capital City FC activities, every parent, guardian, player, coach and staff member agrees to uphold this Code of Conduct and to help create a positive, respectful and safe environment for everyone.
